Transfer Mac files preserving Mac-specific file attributes.
iGet is a modern replacement for older file transfer tools like FTP, SFTP, and client-server solutions. It provides a network-oriented file transfer tool that fully supports Mac-specific file attributes. including resource forks, HFS metadata, packages, aliases, and Unicode file names. which standard protocols like FTP cannot handle. Other features include resumable file transfers, strong encryption, Keychain and Rendezvous support, complete drag and drop support, and an efficient protocol offering fast performance on real-world Internet connections, such as cable, DSL, and even dial-up. Version 1.1.1 contains a handful of improvements and fixes including improved keyboard navigation, internal documentation updates, and eliminated a couple of unusual but potentially annoying problems with skipping items during file transfers.
This is how it SHOULD BE on the Mac. No set up or hassle it JUST WORKS. The file transfer is GREAT, just what it sounds like, Mac icons and looks, blah blah blah. But it is the remote Spotligh that I think is REALLY great it saves me so much time. By the way there is a newer version than the 1.1.1 on here.
Cons
I agree it would be even BETTER if it also did support SFTP; we SOMETIMES want to connect to non-Macs and then have to use somehthing else.
Summary
Awesome! Like SFTP but more Mac-style
