Thanks to a good-looking interface and a strong toolset, this program muscles its way to nearly the top of the icon-design heap. We really like IconMagic's attractive, colorful design, which features well-organized buttons for some of the app's more useful editing tools. The extensive feature set also impresses, with a wide range of color palettes, layers, drawing instruments, gradients, and shadows. You won't find sample icons to guide you, but the detailed tutorial is a big help. A preview function lets you see what your final image will look like, and you can even replace your PC's icons with ones of your own design from directly within the program. Only users who need an absolutely professional icon-design tool should skip this one.

Pros
This application is Fun to use. Lots of familiar paint tools to work with. It comes with loads of stamp designs and a text editor that uses your installed fonts. I would give it ten stars if I could.
Cons
When I change an icon that I adjusted and save the edited version, it still goes back to the old version when I try to load it. I have to work on how to fix that glitch, maybe by restarting the computer.

Pros
Easily customizable gradients are in my opinion the best feature in IconMagic, but thats not all... my second favorite tool would be the triangle tool (ya don't see that usually). And much more!
Cons
There was only one thing in this program that annoyed me, and that was that there was no way to save the icons so it's still in layers when you open them back up later (this makes it harder to create folders).

Pros
I've tried many different icon products out there and I've found IconMagic to be by far the easiest to use. If you're like me - not a serious graphic designer - and just tweak existing icons instead of creating new ones from scratch pixel by pixel, you'll find this product extremely useful. There is virtually no learning curve - a sign of a well designed application - and all the obvious functionality is just where you'd expect it to be.
Cons
Only downside is the inability to save individual images from the icon as bitmaps for use elsewhere.
