This comprehensive security application password-protects selected files from unauthorized users, but offers only a very brief trial period. Encrypting files is accomplished easily through the application's drag-and-drop interface or via the context menu. You supply a single password that allows you to freely edit, copy, or move all encrypted files. We found the program quick, and the File Bleaching Feature completely wiped the unencrypted originals. There is no way to recover the deleted files, but you can easily turn off the File Bleaching default. Especially helpful is an option to create self-decrypting files for your colleagues without forcing them to install the program. Icon Lock-iT XP supports multiple user accounts, a nice feature if you are sharing your computer with others. The short five-day trial period will make it difficult for most to gauge this application, but this utility is effective for those who want an easy-to-use file-encryption tool.

I have have tried over 15 encryption program and have found the prog one of the best (in fact best) in the market at the present time. I have tried this program on dozen of files, every thing remained OK. No bug, No disaapearnce of even a single file as my friend has mentioned in his coments. Best point to note is its incredible supper high speed for encryption a folder or file from context menu with high encryption strength. I congratulate the programmer to create such a nice prog. PZ

Just tried this software out, Encrypted fine, unlocked fine. When I went to remove the lock from the file, it disappeared! I'm *very* glad I tried this with a test file rather than with any file of real importance. Might just have been me - not too sure I want to test again now...be careful!
