  Does not work with other Operating Systems. You will not find this out until the software is downloaded.

  Pros

  Does work - eliminated some 36,000 duplicates (iCal cache went from >16MB to 570KB!!)

  Cons

  Took a really long time - almost 45 minutes to do the "scan", and another 10 minutes to "erase" the dupes.

  Summary

  I don't know what causes the iCal duplicity, but it's real and can really slow down syncing with other devices. This tool will find and eliminate the ridiculous number of duplicates generated occasionally by some defect in the iCal software, but be ready to wait an hour... or just do it overnight.

  Publisher's description is accurate: it's straightforward. Plus it works.

  Cons

  I didn't find the progress bar, so was concerned when it took 10+ minutes for initial setup. Then about an hour for the following steps. But it works in background, doesn't slow things down.

  Summary

  I'm an idiot and still was able to delete 32K duplicates with this app! Remember to set MobileMe to put data FROM the computer TO the mobileme calendar (MobileMe, Sync, Advanced, Reset Sync Data, flip the arrow for computer -> cloud).

  Nothing, really. Maybe slightly more instruction on use... but it's so simple and intuitive that this is just a quibble.

  Summary

  Gets rid of duplicate events in iCal. I had a ton of them because I tried to sync so many different calendars. iCal Dupe Deleter did exactly what it promised, and it did it with very little effort or time invested on my part. A whole lot better than manually removing the dup events.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Almost brain dead in it's simplicity, the little utility just saved me a lot of work. <p> Download, copy app to Applications and run. <p> (Note, there IS documentation that is excellent but probably not needed if you have an IQ over 50 and at least one opposable thumb.) It gives you a list of calendars on your Mac, click one, click "check dupes" if it finds any in that calendar click the DeDupe button. I checked 15 calendars and deleted about 18 duplicated event entries in less than a minute. <p> How the dupes got there I don't really know. But I've been running multiple macs, pcs and PDAs for years. Between all the syncing via .Mac, Missing Sync, Pocket Mac and Active Sync.... well, you get the idea. <p> Worth every penny of whatever you donate to this guy and I will be donating!
