  Pros

Allows us to automatically convert our documents into multiple formats (PDF and hypertext with hyperlinks and a TOC). We can then deliver this "published" content to our users in WCMS applications. Intuitive paradigm. Well-thought-out product.

  Cons

The documentation could be way better. It?s thorough, but really unorganized and at first it wasn't clear where to find things and what they do.

  Summary

Just after New Year?s I found this Hyper.Net tool ? guess it?s new ? installed it. I didn?t have to do much, just built a WCMS application using some of our standard web parts and looking at some of the sample web parts that come with the product. Users check stuff in, Hyper.Net automatically converts it all on a separate server and puts the PDF files, a whole bunch of linked hypertext topics, metadata and all the info I needed to display the content directly into the MOSS storage for me. We keep all of this in a separate page library so end-users don?t need to look at a document library user interface. The paradigm is really intuitive from a SharePoint perspective. It can do a lot more than we need it seems, but the price is low and we can probably use the other functions in the future as our SharePoint stuff grows. Only need to enable them. All in all, a really different and powerful piece of software ? It seems to have been around for a long time under another name or something and an enterprise publishing tool? The admin console is really comprehensive but they didn?t seem to care about making it pretty. We plan to use this as a centralized publishing service for SharePoint. Should lose a star because of the documentation quality, but it did what I wanted without any hassles, and that's worth a star back. Tom Mills
