Encode, compress, and record video data from video devices connected to your PC.
HT TVR encodes and compresses video data in real-time from video devices connected to your PC: TV, VCR, or analog camcorder. Coupled with an inexpensive TV card, the simple on-screen controls make it easy to manage all your TV viewing and recording. Time-shift function allows you to instantly replay certain scenes. You can record the TV show you are watching or use the built-in scheduler to capture an upcoming program. Then you can edit the recorded file with honestech's built-in MPEG editor.
I cannot see anything and there is not any technical support for this to work...
Summary
Total lack of any support and not worth it... Plus I cannot uninstall it from my computer... not fun!

Pros
nothing good about this, no kidding. I went into all the trouble to sign up with download.com only to tell you how much absolutely crap this program is. ***** I paid for it(came bundled with my TV card) and I 'm pissed off. Unfortunately I have to tolerate it only because the remote doen't work otherwise.
Cons
first off, version 2 is exactly the same to version 1. Not only the features are the same (not even one changed or added!) but I compared the dlls as well and they are (except for one) exactly the same versions one for one!! That means this guys just named it version 2.0 and ask 70$ for it! ***** It is one of the ugliest and featurless progs out there. Its features easily eat dust when compared to DScaler and KTV(both excellent freeware apps). ***** Image quality is below average and you cannot match channels to buttons. If you want to go from channel A to channel G you have to go though B-C-D-E-F as well. No way to match channel A to button 1 and G to button 2. ***** Teletext? What's that? (the guys at honestech never heard of it). By the way both Dscaler and KTV offer excellent teletext capabilities (for free). ***** Channel recognition? good lord *honestechly* I don't know what that is neither! I enter them manually in this prog and get them lost each (and every) time I channel surf. ***** Need more? STAY AWAY

This looks good, but can't get it to run good on either of my computers. I have 2 PCs and need a recording program for my Dazzle 80 USB (I think is made for USB 2.0) to record clips from my VCR. both systems use XP. The desktop is an AMD athlon 1700 with 1024 MB's of RAM (USB 2.0). The notebook is a Celeron 2.4 Ghz with 256 MB of RAM (just USB 1.1). I don't know if it's this program or Dazzle but when I press record I get no sound. I actually like the interface and if i was only using it to watch the programs it'd be great. So if your using a PCI card or firewire to capture the video give it a try. and maybe a USB device with a P4 3Ghz+ and more than 2 gigs of RAM system
