  I really liked HotHTML when I first started using it, and found it very simple to use. It's best for people with some knowledge of HTML, although I'm only a beginner and I had no problems. I really like the preview page, and the library of html tags, which were really helpful.

  Cons

  The reason I no longer use HotHTML, is because as far as I can tell, you aren't able to edit more than one page at a time (please someone correct me if I'm wrong). You can open more than one page, but you can only view one at once. I found this to be a problem as I like to work on a couple of pages together. If someone knows of a way to view more than one page at a time, I would highly recommend Hot HTML, because that's the only problem I had with it.

  Pros

  I have loaded this program onto a pc with xp, it runs great. Has never caused my pc to run funny or crash, very stable program. I can view what a webpage will look like on the internet without having to load it on the internet and best of all it is free. It is a small file to download and from my experiences the smaller the files the better the program. I really love this program and all the guys that made it, you guys rock! Keep up the good work.

  Unlike the majority of other html editors, it's free.

  I tried to install it on Windows XP but got all sorts of errors about missing files. A pity because it sounded good. I hope you will have more luck!

  Pros

  Installed nicely, has a decent looking interface. Does color coding and preview mode. Edit done in raw HTML code.

  Cons

  One major bug I found was with the "Save all" button - program went into an infinite loop and saved all open documents, in sequence, over and over. <p>Also, views don't refresh properly, but minor compared to save bug. Maybe these are fixed in the new version...

  Pros

  this is a good editor for beginners to HTML/ASP/Perl. This helped greatly in my teaching class for 'Introduction to HTML' and the students generally find using an editor like this more stimulating than EditPlus or UltraEdit which are general purpose editors. Its got alot of buttons and easy code generators that will teach you progressively what goes behind the scenes when making a website. Also its freeware so I cant see why our organisation would not want us using this:-)

  Cons

  More experienced coders would benefit from version 3 (2004?) of hothtml. Some issues with syntax highlighting at times but usually fixes itself within a few seconds. Explore like tool in the second tab only shows the context menu for the folders, the file list is just a plain list and is not the same as Windows Explorer(v3.0 has this though)
