Organizations typically deploy Hitachi ID Identity Manager, HitachiID Password Manager or Hitachi ID Privileged Access Manager on theirprivate, corporate network. Using their work PC, users can accessthe web portal of any of these products either through the physicalcorporate network (Ethernet or WiFi) or using a VPN.Users may wish to access these same Hitachi ID products, which arenot normally reachable from the public Internet, using their personaldevice -- a smart phone, tablet, etc. Phones and tablets are oftennot connected to the corporate network, instead using a home or publicWiFi hot spot or a cell phone data plan. Accordingly, withouta corporate VPN client deployed to the phone or tablet, the personaldevice cannot access the Hitachi ID product's web user interface.The Hitachi ID Mobile Access application allows personal, mobiledevices to access the Hitachi ID identity and access management (IAM)system deployed on the corporate, private network.Connectivity between the phone or tablet, attached to the publicInternet, and the on-premise Hitachi ID software, is mediated by aproxy server, deployed in the cloud.This application requires activation. It is only useful to users whosecompany or other organization has deployed both a Hitachi ID softwareproduct, with a version number of 9.0 or later, and where a cloudproxy has been activated, to enable mobile access to the on-premiseIAM system.
