Academic Room Hindi Dictionary is a premium Hindi to English dictionary app developed in the Harvard Innovation Lab. Its massive database provides over 350,000 definitions. The dictionary is designed with students and scholars in mind, to help them translate words and idioms from modern Hindi, Urdu, Khariboli, Brajbhasha and Avadhi. All words can be searched using a Hindi (Devanagari) keyboard. The present database continues to grow as more words are continually added.Existing apps on the market are, unfortunately, based on English-Hindi dictionaries and, therefore, provide only one word English translations. Such dictionaries are inadequate for scholarly work, which requires translations that are more nuanced and attentive to multiple contexts and gramatical forms.
