This application offers a simple solution to desktop management, though it's a bit light in the features department. GVD - Virtual Software creates a system tray icon and a toolbar at the top left of your screen. Either one offers quick access to virtual desktops. The program claims to support up to 1,000 desktops, but you'll be limited to the less mind-boggling number of two while using the demo version. The program doesn't support the use of hot keys for desktop navigation and you can't change desktop titles, so it might get a little tricky remembering what's open in Desktop 999. GVD - Virtual Software works well within its limited scope and anyone can use it, but more flexible desktop managers are around.
