  - It finds all deleted documents or folders even if they weren't sent to the recycle bin after deleting. - It shows you its original path for easy searching - The original file name is retained and you can recover it to your desired folder (although it's advisable to recover it to a different path from where it was deleted) - It shows the state of the file giving you an idea of how much chance you could recover the file. - It recovered to at least two years back of deleted files (not all were in good condition though, but still...) - It gives you that sigh of relief after an accidental delete!!!

  Pros

  Recovered photos I had accidentally deleted from SD card as well as the hard drive they were supposed to be copied to. I liked that I could restore them to folder of my choice.

  Cons

  Fortunately, I knew the dates on the files so I could figure out which ones were the ones I needed. Couldn't see the full file path to them, so otherwise might have been a hassle.

  Does a nice job, easy to use. AS WITH ALL CNET DOWNLOADS THESE DAYS, I DOWNLOAD DIRECTLY FROM PUBLISHER SITE AS CNET IS ADDING A CRAPWARE WRAPPER (WHICH MY ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM DETECTS) TO ALL OF THE PROGRAMS. SHAME ON YOU CNET!!!!!!!!!!!

• Recovered lost photos!

  Pros

  After some frustration with Picassa a couple of jpg files were removed from my network drive where they were stored. Nothing was found in recycle bin. I found the Glary Undelete recommendation in a Picassa forum thread. I downloaded and used on the PC on my network that used to contain these pictures. Glary found them and I was able to recover. I am SOOO thankful! Easy, Effective and Free. If you are happy as I am after using, you should consider buying the Pro version to support the company. I am really impressed and again...thankful!

  I used Recuva, and found it to be much better for the folder recovery.

  Summary

  This program literally has no directory structure. It shows you the folders, but instead of being the folders they were actually in, they all have names like "00b1" or something. The files all have this name too, and most are not openable. Pretty poor program but works I guess if you only have a few, exactly-specific files you want and are willing to search for them for a few hours. It also doesn't scan the same way if your work gets interrupted and you need to do the scan again. Annoying pop-ups which go beyond the edges of the display and cannot be closed other then by the 'X', no option to overwrite or not overwrite files individually or rename them, in fact this program actually has no options at all.

  Simple straight forward. Needed files that had been accedently removed from flash drive and I was able to retreive everything.

• Can only search 35% of hard drive

  Easy to use format, finds *some* files when you finally cancel a search.

  I've tried running the program three times (currently running since last night, 9 hours later I'm trying this) and it can never get past 35% of my hard drive. Like other users said, it flies for awhile then stalls.

  Summary

  Yes, it's free which is great but not if the program doesn't work.

  Recovered all my accidentally deleted files(aprox. 50 GB) without any issues

  A bit slow on the scan for deleted files, but could be a hard drive performance issue

  I recommend this free utility, for its simplicity and effectiveness.

  In my opinion, there are absolutely no pros to this program at all.

  Cons

  This program is totally useless, unless you are familiar with all the mumbo jumbo numbers and letters that show up as deleted files.

  Summary

  You are supposed to be able to filter your search by file extentions. However, if you put jpeg, doc, or mp3, many other files come up including some that only has a lot of numbers or number/letter combinations. Many of the files are unrecognizable as something useful. I definitely would not recommend this program. Most of the undeleted files that showed up were not specified files names. This program is a total waste of time.
