In addition to its core functionality, GimmeSomeTune supports Last.fm and offers customizable hotkeys for full control over iTunes. Users can configure settings to fetch album covers from selected sources and set the application to work with a Mac remote control. Although the inability to resize the info window may be a drawback for some, the application provides options to adjust font styles and colors, ensuring a personalized touch.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I paid for this and every time I reboot the computer I get a pane (PAIN) telling me that the same update/version is available for download. I couldn't get rid of it and can't get the developer's site link on the VT page to open. Outside of that, it's a handy thing to have.
Fantastic - use it daily

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is far and away the best "remote" iTunes controller and lyric/cover fetcher I've found. I've stopped looking at others. I don't see the point. GimmeSomeTune does everything I want and is easily customizable. I modified my hotkeys so they're all intuitive to me, and I pretty much keep iTunes hidden and just use Gimme. My only (very minor) complaint is that saving edits you make to fetched lyrics could be little easier. /yes, I donated

Several iTunes tools in one!

Pros
I downloaded this program after searching for a menubar iTunes controller. When I learned that this program is a menubar controller, album art downloader, lyrics downloader and can update your iChat status with your current song, plus it integrates with last.fm and can even work with the Apple Remote, I wondered why anyone would bother with downloading all those tools separately. I can attest that every feature has worked without issue (I don't have the Apple Remote, so that's the only thing I haven't tried). I'm especially impressed with having my missing album art and lyrics automatically loaded as I listen to my songs.
Cons
It does a poor job at washing my dishes. Seriously, that's probably the only thing this Swiss Army knife of an iTunes utility can't do.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is a very handy app, particularly for lyrics. One suggestion: Provide an option for the Lyrics window to open by default (and stay open) when the app starts up. Many users will principally want this app for its lyrics capability - i.e. so they can see the lyrics whenever iTunes is playing a song.
Everything I want...but a few bugs

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Wow. This software does just about everything I always wished iTunes would get around to doing! Especially the automatic lyrics-fetching, and the copious easy keyboard commands - to view & edit lyrics, plus to control the player! All in a nice semi-transparent window. Tons of options (mini controls for the menu bar) and customizations. Still a little buggy though. If I pause for more than a few minutes, GimmeSomeTune seems to shut itself off and has to be relauched manually. It's also frozen a couple times, making it impossible to close the layover windows until it finishes whatever process got it stuck in the first place. (Quitting iTunes seems to force it closed, but that's a pain in the butt.) FYI for programmer: I'm on a 1.33ghz iBook, 768MB RAM, OS 10.4.9
