• How to find hidden "permanent files"?

  Doesn't look like it will get rid of hidden files. Files that stay on after cleaning up internet files

  Summary

  I need something to help me find and get rid of permanent hidden files. It looks like a good general product, but what about files I can't seem to find that are wasting room in my computer. Not cache files or cookie files, but things I see come up when I run Spybot.

  Pros

  The tool is simple and effective. It does what it's supposed to do. It cleans your hard drive from unnecessary files.

  Cons

  The program could do a little bit more automatic calculations i.e. how much hard drive space do i get back after deleting the files etc.

• 20 GB FREED !!!!

  Pros

  Very simple and small program. <p>Very easy interface. <p>I was going crazy seeing my hard-drive getting full and I couldn't know from what. Seriously I checked almost every single folder I have in my computer and I still couldn't see where or what files are taking all this space. <p> <p>Finally this program detected hidden "Recent Files" that are stored in the hard disk. I watch a lot of animations and movies on my computer, all of the episodes were backed-up without me knowing it. Thanks to this program I deleted them within a push of a button!

  Pros

  This little program freed almost 2 GB of temp files. Yay! Better than me having to go through and search for these files.

  Cons

  GenDiskCleaner seemed to freeze first time I tried deleting unnecessary files. I gave it another chance, and it performed well. :)

  Easy to use <p>Can free up gigs at a time (The first time I used it, I freed up 5 gigs! :) ) <p>FREE FREE FREE!

  Cons

  Would like for it to scan more of your hard drive, to see if there's anything else I need to get rid of. I have some secret files hidden in my desktop somewhere, and I want them out.

  quick download in zip file, simplistic interface, but hey, who cares when it's freeware. Did a splendid job at the first attempt, and gave me 300 meg back, must recommend.

  Easy to use, small file size, quick download time, quick installation time, and once again, easy interface.

  Cons

  The interface is a wee bit simple and didn't access my Recycle Bin, but that could just be a problem on my machine. Other than that, it works excellently.

  Pros

  I was very impressed with this product. it truly was a very small file and it did it's job very well, also it is true freeware. there was no trial period or registration required. I really like it.

  Cons

  The interface leaves a little to be desired, but it is easy to understand. but who can complain about a interface on good operating freeware, and also with a better interface the file would probaly be larger.
