  Does not work at all. Creates multiple copies of every file inputted, then fails to convert any of them, and often crashes while doing so.

  I loaded 19 WMAs into the bay, clicked convert, and it somehow created 120 files. There were 5-6 duplicates of each original file, except each was 5 bytes and not in either WMA or MP3. Interface is so simple there was nothing I could do to get it to work. Have not been able to process a single WMA into MP3.

  Pros

  It was a very fast download and install. The conversion was very fast as well.. it converted 25 wma files to mp3 in less than 5 minutes. And it told me exactly where it put the converted files so they were easy to find.

  Cons

  As one of the previous reviewers said, the program does not do anything if you have it set to convert to the highest quality. You need to drop it down to the second highest. Yes, this compromises the quality of the sound bite you are converting, but for everyday play it doesn't really matter. If you're going to use it for something fancier, then you're better off with a converter that can maintain the quality.

  Overall, I'd recommend it for people who just want their files converted to mp3 files quickly and are not overly invested in super high quality.

  Total Garbage as ixlatall said. It is like a university homework. And so distracting google's search result as I opted for this instead of better one(Total Video Converter Lite). I learned this time I had to read the review before download this rubbish. I don't know the evaluation process as CNET editor's choice but if you don't have anything to write down, just don't. Otherwise your site's credibility would be tarnished.

  A misleadingly simple interface. The simple truth is that it doesn't do a darn thing.

  Cons

  Waited over 3 min for the download. The misleadingly impressive interface only allowed me to select individual files rather than albums as promised. The settings had the mp3 listbox grayed out and when I converted them, 2 of the files failed and all the rest were converted to text files. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! There has to be better freeware out there. I recommend you explore that first before wasting your time with this like I did.

  Pros

  Quick download and set up; Batch convert - whole albums and several albums at once; Can choose file to save new mp3s to (doesn't have to be source file); Can clear the list of converted files quickly; Works quickly and well.

  Cons

  Uses a lot of processor power so it's best if you don't have other programs running at the same time (I had itunes and Safari open, and my recent MacPro had the fan running like mad); Would not convert my files at the highest quality - so I had to use second highest quality (stereo, 44100Hz, 224kbps); The program crashed once - but after I installed the latest update there were no problems.

  Summary

  This seems to generally work well, I was able to batch convert over 20 albums that I had ripped from CDs and saved to my hard drive, but had never been able to moved onto my iPod. After a very quick download and set up, I was on my way. The program had no problems working in large batches, and there weren't any issues after I figured out that I needed to convert at the lower quality setting of stereo, 44100Hz, 224kbps.
