So you're bored with that same old background image on your desktop, but you don't want just another picture of cute cats? This program automatically generates a constantly shifting series of fractal images for a computer's wallpaper that's colorful and abstract and guaranteed to feed that inner mathematician. Users can switch the type of fractal, set how often they want the image to change, and toggle among image sizes. If a user prefers, the software can create a new image on demand, rather than on schedule. The program does take a fairly hefty bite out of system memory, but for computer owners who want to add a bit of abstract art to their desktops, this free download is a good bet.

TERRIBLE. Will NOT uninstall... very complicated.

Pros
Very, very simple user interface.
Cons
I tried out the program, and found that the fractals created were nothing special. THere is no feature to edit colors or other perameters. No option to "turn off". Uninstalling it did not work, program still remains...
Summary
Even though I uninstalled it using its own uninstaller the actual program still stayed behind. I tried to delete it manually, with no luck. The error message I got was "Destination folder access denied; You need permission to perform this action". Now I am left with a program that I CANNOT DELETE. Also, it still changes my wallpaper, even after I change it to something else myself. It keeps running with no option to "turn off" or anything like that! BEWARE... BEWARE..
MALWARE- won't turn off or uninstall

Pros
manages to make a pretty stupid looking fractal slide show
Cons
Won't uninstall or allow me to change desktop to anything else.
Summary
I tried to turn it off, wouldn't turn off. Pressed the "help" button - it does exactly NOTHING. I changed the desktop image, it changed it back to this boring crap. I went to the control panel and uninstalled it - this appeared to work. And then the boring fractal images came back. I found the program file still on my c drive, tried to delete it - WON'T DELETE! (Running Vista here, and have had no other problems like this at all). CNET - MAJOR FAIL allowing this on your site. I can only assume someone who would design a program you can't turn off or uninstall has other bad intentions.

Pros
Fractals rock, we can't deny that, and having changing fractals as wallpaper is pretty cool in the geek kingdom.
Cons
The resolution is poor overall.
The colors used in making the fractals are extremely limited... amd rather dull.
There's not really much variation, if one looks at the overall output.
I uninstalled it pretty quickly... it's not a bad download, but you've got to be even more bored than I am to really get a kick out of this.
