If you love music but hate jumping from Firefox to music player and back whenever you want to adjust your tunes, FoxyTunes is the plug-in for you.

FoxyTunes gives you control of your favorite music player from within Firefox, so there's no more switching windows to skip that Barry Manilow ditty you forgot to delete. The interface is easy to use and is highly customizable. When opened, it shows a navigation array with buttons for Play, Pause, Mute, Next Track, Last Track, Volume, and the useful Show Player, which unhides your music player. There's also a Hide Player button, as well as a music Search tool, keyboard shortcuts, skins, and a mini player that places the app controls on your desktop.

Supported players include iTunes, Winamp, RealPlayer, XMPlay and Last.fm, as well as nearly two dozen others and a "custom player" option. The lyric and album art searches have been expanded with FoxyTunes' new music portal, which provides feeds from Google, YouTube, Amazon.com, Last.fm, Wikipedia, and several online radio stations to make music discovery easier.

FoxyTunes' strengths are in the depth of available features plus the level of customization. Weaknesses? Only that you'll wish all Firefox add-ons were this good.

Pros
I like how it shows the singer and song playing, nice features. I love how it can open up in a separate window info about the song and artist by clicking on the name of the song. It's like your own little jukebox on the toolbar.
Cons
It doesn't do anything that you can't do without it. I guess it's a waste of memory but I haven't noticed any performance decrease.
Summary
It's completely unnecessary but its so neat. It also puts the play, pause, next/ff reverse/rw, and sound buttons all out for you on the toolbar. It's got a few other weird buttons I don't use. Haven't played around with it much to try and customize it. It makes it more unecessary because I have all those buttons on my keyboard...so... but it's cool if just for the moving jukebox-like scrolling name/song on the toolbar. If using mediamonkey you need to move it from the lower right because it interferes with each new song pop-up that mediamonkey does.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Dec 9, 2010<p/>....or to move it around just hold and drag the rightmost triangle anywhere

Not long after I got Firefox 3, I got FoxyTunes. I've been using it ever since. I don't like sitting in silence too long, so I usually play music as I browse the internet. It's annoying having to open and close Media Monkey every time I start up Firefox. FoxyTunes made it a lot easier for me. <p>I also like the FoxyTunes Planet part where you can get info on the band you're listening to from YouTube, Wikipedia, and Last.FM (all of which I have bookmarked). The slim toolbar on the bottom is very unobtrusive as well.

it's compatible /w firefox 2 just click tools click options click security then click warn me when sites try to install add-ons then click exacptions then type in the site then click allow and presto change-o it works /w vista

alright i like jet audio though cause it plays all formats <p>and any formats it can't play it updates info on or tries to play it ps:it's a application not used in firefox so don't try doing that to jetaudio
