Used FoxArc Movie Editor for Windows?
Editors’ Review
FoxArc Movie Editor allows users to create video presentations using still images, videos, and audio files. Although the program works, we found it to be somewhat inflexible and not as powerful as we had hoped.
The program's interface is sleek and fairly intuitive; users import the files they want to use, arrange them on the timeline, and then add special effects as desired. However, unlike similar programs we've seen, FoxArc Movie Editor does not support drag-and-drop placement of files. That means that rearranging files on the timeline is a matter of right-clicking them and then moving them one space to the left or right, which can quickly become time-consuming. We were also hoping to be able to add a soundtrack to our videos, but it seems that the only way to add audio is to record it directly into the program. This is great if you want to narrate your video, but not so hot if you want to add music. The program does have quite a few options for animations, transition effects, text, and filters, and these are easy to use, but we would have preferred to have some more attention paid to basic features. The program's online Help file is quite brief. Overall, we found the program to be functional, but it doesn't compare favorably to similar programs we've used.
FoxArc Movie Editor is free to try, but the trial version puts a watermark on the output. The program installs desktop icons without asking and leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program with reservations.
