• Virus Review is incorrect

  Pros

  I downloaded on Oct. 18, 2005. Virus scanned with Trend Micro PC-cillin, Norton Corporate, and Norton 2005 (through Yahoo Mail). No virus. <p> <p>Installed fine on two computers. Second computer asked about overwriting system file with older file, and I clicked no to all. <p> <p>The Suite <p>--------- <p>CM Pro - Basically an improved version of Windows Character Map program found under accessories. <p> <p>Cool Type - A kiddie program to make your text have random fonts and colors. <p> <p>Font Comparison - Used for seeing which characters in a symbol font correspond to. Unfortunately for me it doesn't list the full ASCII range so the alt code characters are missing. <p> <p>Font Index - Same thing as Word's feature. Shows all fonts in their on font.

  Cons

  Doesn't break any new ground. Didn't do what I downloaded it for. I wanted it to show all symbols (including those like alt+0222) and which "normal" characters those corresponded to.

  Pros

  Yea, if any. NO, I'm wrong: it can be used to sabotage your colleague's computer and make his Windows shut.

  Cons

  Using WinME + IE6SP1 + DX8.0a + Norton AV 2003 + MSOffice2KSP3 & 512MB RAM, 8GB C:\ with remaing partitioned into various logicals, 1 floppy, 1 MO, 1 CDRW, 1 CDROM. All drivers and patches latest. <p> <p>The setup asked to update some files (and it gives you impression that are those C and BASIC runtime files). After giving permission, it asked you to reboot. Upon reboot, error messages after the POST say: cannot update files %1 %2 (sort of, not the exact wording). The Windows update configuration, into Win GUI, nOw, Windows tells you cannot find "OLEAUT32.DLL." We all know that this basically means Windows is broken. Moreover, Norton AV popups warning. Follow its warnings link, I learned that the machine is hit by trojan. And, this is the first software installation whatsoever since I've just done a full-system scan and was clean. After extracting the missing file from Win_14.cab, I followed suggestions, still canNOT get rid of the virus. So, .... <p> <p>Thanks, Peter, I've got your Ghost to revive myself back. Because I keep all data in other partitions, it didn't cost me much, other than 2 hours of youth. <p> <p>Well, I knew it -- using trials will one day get myself some bugs. Fool me once, but never the second, you guys at the FontSuite crack house!
