Great price, but there are better free alternatives in the Mac Store Apps.
Cons
CNET needs to change the free. This is the second app that has been listed as free at the mac store and is actually $4.99. The iReporter link now says $4.99. Hooray Problem solved!
Summary
I don't think this is a scam, rather a typo. They don't charge you as soon as you follow the link, there is no malware put on the computer after following the link to apple.com.
