It can also convert DVD to VCD, SVCD, AVI (DivX), WMV, MP3, iPod and PSP formats. It provides fast ripping speed and good output quality. And it can automatically detect DVD-ROM and select appropriate settings for beginner, so you can get started with just one click. Version 5.3 adds support for converting in batch mode.

I wanted to copy a few of my legally bought DVDs to my laptop so I don't have to bring the DVDs when I travel. This doesn't work at all for this...

Used the trial to rip a DVD. After some time, a pop-up appeared telling me my DVD was ripped. But when I went to the download folder, no file. Did a search - no ripped file on the hard disk at all. Waste of time. Glad I didn't pay for it.

It was fast to download and install. Also very fast uninstall...
Cons
The software failed to rip a protected DVD. The error message suggested me to contact their support.... Why would I need a DVD rip tool if the disc wasn't protected????

trail version wont rip copy righted dvd's for backups. it says a set low amount of free trial runs, but dont offer the service, bad bad bad, there are select few that do free, hard to find too

quick and easy download. very user friendly. very quick, ripped a 27 minute video in 6 1/2 minutes. no misleading information; 5 free trials means 5 free trials.

Extremely easy to use! Lets you easily choose audio tracks, subtitles before converting.

The price. $35 is a little steep for a download program as simplistic as this. If it was in the store with the actual disc, etc. I might think about spending that, but as a download, no. I will watch their web site for a price drop, then buy it.
Summary
I tried Movavi, Avex, Roxio and several others. Found them bulky, not user friendly and slow to respond... if they even responded. This was just a couple of clicks, and you're off. The conversion process was slow, conversion time equal to lenght of video. That's okay, it just means it's not missing any frames. It's nice to also find someone who stands by their limitations posted on CNET. Five use full trial, just as stated. No last second hidden "30% conversion only" or "3 minute conversion" or "watermark". I've used up all 5 uses and didn't have a glitch or false response.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Apr 5, 2009<p/>Forgot to mention, it loads the DVD on it's own and gives you a drop down box to choose tracks/files. Next to each track it tells you what it is and how long it is, so it's easy to pick the video out.
