You'll be impressed with this very handy, simple Flash video player, though a couple of quirks bring it down a notch or two from perfection.

FLVPlayer's five-button interface doesn't need a help file. Opening an FLV file is a mere matter of choosing it from a dialog or dragging and dropping it onto FLVPlayer. We really liked how this utility always correctly set the aspect ratio during playback, but some users may wish that the videos could be enlarged to fill the screen.

The volume slider is unobtrusive but difficult to finely set. On the other hand, the video position slider can be set to the hundredth of second. Buttons to move to the beginning or end of the video aren't as useful as they could be since the End button is disabled. Occasionally, moving the position slider to a particular second didn't work. Instead, pressing Play simply moved the slider to its previous position and restarted the video.

Flaws notwithstanding, anyone who has a collection of Flash Video files will love this tiny freeware player.

lets just say it installed 2 adware/malware programs and it appears there is no flv player in the install as it didn't install one after telling me it did... yep its really like that...

This is filled with extra programs that you arent warned about, starting with the cnet downloader, never mind the flv player.
Summary
I must have missed the moment when cnet went from trusted download source to nightmare delivery system, but this was ridiculously complex to undo.

Everything. I declined all spam. Installed the BS. Can't find it anywhere in my computer. Installed it again a 2nd time. Same results. I tried to uninstall it from control panel "add/remove programs" and can't find it in there either. This piece of crap in is hiding my computer doing something because my computer has been slow. The antivirus has not caught it so it might be very new or hopefully not a virus\spam\spyware crap. DON'T DOWNLOAD!

None. The player crash every time I try to run any flv file

This program does nothing but automatically install tons of adware/malware, change many of my computer's settings and I doubt there are some virus too. Although I tried to manually remove and reset everything yet I doubt there are still many more hidden crap installed in my computer. BAD BAD BAD adware!
Summary
I dont know how this program can get "excellent" review with 4 stars from CNET. Affiliate marketing? I used to trust CNET as a verifier of IT products but now, not anymore!

Loaded my computer full of spyware. I have been using an older version and it kept nagging me to update. I wasn't having any issues with the old version and I followed the link from update pop-up on the software itself. Security threat.
Summary
The installer installed three additional programs that directs you to a website that apparently gives them link credit. I noticed my Firefox search result showed unnatural ad results. Checked my extension and it was contaminated with an extension called "WordOV 3" After spending an hour, I'm still noticing infection such as "settings.premium.greatarcadehits.cl_allowedDomains" that grants permission to spammer to compromise my browser.

It might as well be a virus, it loads so much cr@p even if you don't finish the installation. Remover the cr@p and it comes back. If that is not a virus, what it?

The installation loaded a bunch of toolbars and game cr@p on my machine even though I unchecked all the addon cr@p options. It seems I'm going to have to do some cr@pwhere scans and cleanup to get rid of it all. It has gotten to where I can't trust program downloads from CNET any longer. They always say that downloads they sponsor come with no crapwere. But over time it has become apparent that it is all lies and it's a shame. CNET used to be one of the last bastions of safety on the Internet when it came to downloading software. They actually USED to look out for their visitors. Complain and like government they just deny, deny, deny. About the only thing I can trust on CNET any longer is the forums.
