• I now cannot operate without this program.

  This is a fantastic program that I have owned for several years now. It doesn't slow down your computer - it SPEEDS IT UP. Having the screen redraw 8 different windows on one screen is much slower than switching between 8 different desktops with Flashdesktops. <p> <p>Set up shortcut keys using ctrl/alt combinations with the numpad keys for maximum efficency. <p> <p>Try it, love it, buy it.

  There are the odd rare programs that don't play nicely with FD (and you can set FD to ignore them). Other than that this program is perfect.

  It seems to be more efficient than most simpler programs at hiding windows and re-displaying them. There are a lot of features.

  Cons

  The user interface is not intuitive and does not look very professional. There are a lot of features that are so customizable that it takes too long to do something that is two clicks on simular programs, such as automatically sending a certain program to a certain desktop, which is actually impossible as far as I can tell with this software if you're trying to do it on something like Outlook.

  Have you ever had a window that was off screen enough that you couldn't move or cascade it into view? At low resolutions has a bottom button been out of reach? This app lets you identify those windows, and change their screen coordinantes, bringing them back into view or showing the button you need. If you ever use multi monitor displays you can have application windows way off screen when you go back to single display mode. This is the only app that let's you easily move those windows back into view by specifying new window coordinates. Oh yes... it is also a nice vdm.

  It works. Doesn't hog memory. Easy to use and configure. Short cuts to the desktops. Not eye-candy. It's an application that lets you work more efficiently. If you are at work and end up with a ton of applications open, flash desktops is for you.

  BEST shareware program I have used in the past 5 years. This program is FANTASTIC. Runs great on my computer. Never seen anything to match it. Give it a try and you might love it also...I registered it today. Just love it. Much easier for me to use my computer now. It is fast and stable on my system. I liked it enough to take the time to write these comments, that tells you I found it a pleasure to use. Take a look at it, you might like it also. I don't know the author and have nothing to gain by hyping this program. I just loved it.

  I tried many virtual desktops and this is the only one I forked out for. I rarely buy software but this I couldn't resist. It switches between screens quickly and takes up little resources. Map the keys with CTRL or ALT + Numpad keys for optimal efficiency (in my opinion!).

  Flash Desktops is the first virtual desktop manager I have used that makes multiple desktops a real productivity booster. Other applications were too features-driven, cumbersome, and weren't developed with a keen understanding of how such software needed to behave to be really useful. Kudos to Trombettworks for an excellent piece of software.

  I've tried them all (and that's quite a few!) and this is the best. Just as it says on the program's home page, if it takes very many keystrokes or mouse actions to move windows around in a virtual desktop manager, you'll end up just not doing it and spend all your time on one desktop anyway. This guy obviously uses his desktop manager and so it's very quick and easy to do all the things you want a desktop manager to do for you. It's a bit more complicated than the more popular VDM's out there, but as a long time user of these things, this is what you'll ultimately be looking for if you really use a VDM.
