File Property Changer offers users a quick, efficient way to change a variety of factors related to files. While this program proved to be effective, it may not appeal to everyday users.

This program provides a clear interface that users can grasp quickly. The left-hand side of the program is dominated by a file tree listing every usable folder and file on the hard drive. Once users have selected the file they wish to toy with, its statistics instantly appear on the right side. There you are shown its file name, what format the file is in, when it was created, when it was last accessed and written, as well as whether it is a read-only. These properties are important because File Property Changer allows users to change them all. Whether you want to make a .doc file a .txt, change the date it was created or last viewed, or even hide the file within the system, it can be done here.

We were unable to fully test this product's effectiveness, because File Property Changer must be purchased first in order to convert properties. However, if the product works as well as its interface, it should deliver. This program will probably not be interesting to casual users, but people who have to make sweeping changes to file properties will love its ease of use.

Does not offer/perform bulk change of the "read only" file property (like, getting rid of it for exemple). <p>The company does not answer request for help or information by email. <p>A waste of money.

Like mentioned below me, this program is slow, even on my new computer. Try Name and Property Modifier, it can actually change date and time stamps, unlike this one.

Was looking for a simple tool to change date & time stamps on files. Tried FPC, but it ran very slowly, made copies of the files having their attributes modified on my c: drive (for reasons unclear), didn't support multiple selections and didn't change modify attributes of parent directories. Avoid and try Property Cafe instead.
