I've been using an old beta version of GenDesigner besauce it has a graphic design the I like. To actually see the families as a Trees, or rather Tumbleweed as it has turned out. MyHeritage has taken that into a fantastic Online service where Your Family Tumbleweed can connect with others Family Tumbleweeds.

MyHeritage made my search more easy then others programs I used before. Easy to input date, easy to manager, easy to correct information. I love FTB, even I suggest to my family start to use this great heritage program. Great to find matches family online by link, can share with parent's family's, excellent and fast support if have some issue Helpful and care no matter the issue. Powerful program to everyone make great and large tree family. export and import gencom easily. etc....

It is easy to use - you just start inputting data and pretty soon you've got a "tree". I love getting the Record Matches and have gotten lots of information by using them. The IT help is great, although I've only had one problem so far. I've got two different trees going right now and can easily move from one to the other as I find new information. You can also contact other tree managers and I've emailed several of them to see if they have any additional information on a particular person. I've got a new email friend who is working on some of the same family members as I am. I prefer the view of the data I get when opening the program by clicking on the desktop icon. (See more info on this in the con section.) There are lots of different reports you can get, including ones showing Ancestors, Descendents, one that shows discrepancies, and one that shows relationships between all the people on your tree and any particular person.
Cons
The biggest downside I have found is a recent development, which was the reason for contacting IT. I began having problems making edits to previously entered information. IT said I should log into the program by going through My Heritage, rather than entering the program using the desktop icon. I can now make corrections, but I cannot get the same view of my data. I prefer the view I get when clicking on the icon instead of logging into My Heritage, but at least now I can make corrections. Thanks IT! I cannot find any report that will include all the biographical information (which in most cases is the most interesting!). I have tried creating a Custom Report and didn't get the info I wanted, but I will keep working on that. I will continue to work on that.

Overall, I would recommend this program. I have become a genealogy research addict!
An excellent way to improve your Family Tree

Pros
I posted my family tree at FTB and discovered many different links with other families. It was very nice. You receive e-mails with smart matches and record matches with a lot of new information about your ancestors.
Cons
You need to pay to have record matches, but smart matches are free and you have a lot of data with it.

Pros
I think no software can't replace my own research, but it can be a very useful tool. Every time ( 4 or 5 occasions ) I contacted the support team the response was quick and helpful.
Cons
My complain is accessing my Record Matches is rarely free ( annual data subscription is 7,49 EUR per month ), but there is a couple of another ways I use to research with other search engines for free.

Pros
While the interface in a way looks a bit Windows 3.1:ish it's easy to work with and certainly very powerful. FTB also emphasizes photo management which I appreciate. I have the PremiumPlus subscription through which I have found hundreds and hundreds of new relatives which keeps the midnight oil burning! All my support issues have been sorted out in a very helpful and thorough way.
Cons
If I compare the (free) iOS mobile app to the one from ancestry.com that supports their platform, it could be swifter and have some more features. In the beginning syncing between FTP and the online tree was a BIG issue - more often than not it would not succeed - but I haven't seen that problem at all lately. The map that shows location of adresses from the database is very buggy. If you try to drag the pointer to a customized location, you will get a javascript error. Same thing happens if you manually enter the GPS coordinates. I am sure it's fixable though.
Summary
Some small niggles aside the software is very user friendly and the search and merge funtion you get when you purchase a Premium subscription is very powerful. It costs quite a bit but for me it's worth it!
Wonderful tool which my family members love & rely on.

Over the years the program has continued to be updated and improved BUT my the number one reason for my ranking is their customer service. Every time I have emailed them with a problem, I have had a response in 24 hours and a description of the problem with the resolution. If it their boo boo, they step up and tell you what went wrong. I saw the one star review of the individual who lost their tree. They didn't say they contacted My Heritage customer service, but, based on my experience, I can't believe they wouldn't have recovered all that lost work for them. I have invited my family to view the tree and everyone who has done so, appreciates having it available. My only criticism is you have to work to find the link to send them a support email. However, once you find it - they are on it.
Cons
You have to dig to find the link to send a support request email. I know they are trying to keep support costs down as most problems can be resolved using their FAQ's. I understand that, but if the FAQ's don't help, keep looking, you can contact them with your specific problem.

This program is easy to navigate however it costs money to sync your families to the site & if you choose not to sync it beware that your project can completely get erased. I had found over 15,000 of my past relatives & I always saved the project which is supposed to save to your computer. However I went to open my project yesterday & guess what it is gone! I can open other projects I have but my personal tree is gone. The files are on my computer but the program refuses to load them. It keeps telling me there is an error with that project. So frustrating to have to start over. I guess I should have written it all out so I had a hardcopy. Looking for a new program so this doesn't happen again.
