Family Hotel is a hotel management software. It is simple and fast. It helps to manage your schedule, entry bookings, consumption, payments, billing, inventory management, printing and many statistics worksheets (housekeeping, rooming -list, handrail) as well as sending mail to all documents produced (in PDF or GIF image). Family Hotel is scalable. It has a tool for advanced reporting that allows you not only to modify the reports already included in the software (confirmation, bill) but also to create your own reports. Family Hotel is open. The data is stored in a standard format (Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server 2008), it is possible to create data exports to Excel (including through the reporting tool) Above all, Family Hotel is connected. It can support, fully automated, selling your nights on the Internet with most online travel agencies (Booking, Expedia and others). It handles the sending of your availability and recovery of bookings made by users.

Pros
I was looking for a tool which has the following benefits: 1. not expensive. 2. written in a universal environment. MS/ACCESS and MS/SQL Server, 3. easy to use, with a customizable User Interface. 4. dealing with my bookings, my restaurant tickets (both linked in most of the cases) 5. dealing with my stock 6. offering an easy way of customizing and delivering: bills, forecasts, confirmation and cancelation notes, check-in and out lists, staff listings, etc... FH has an imbedded Report Editor. This tool is intuitive. I customized their samples to put my business info/logo and I started sending confirmation emails. I started easily producing bills for the stays and tickets for the restaurant as well. 7. You can describe an environment of suppliers related to your products and of partners. 8. FH is scalable: You can go from a PC to a LAN and then to an Internet-based environment. 9. Last and not least, FH will allow me to retrieve automatically bookings from the Internet.
Cons
Family Hotel is a rich product and its full implementation requires a minimum of computer skills. I was able to implement it myself, but every time I need information or advise, I always have a reply a few hours later, considering that I am in Asia with a 6-hour time difference. I think they also propose services and training.
Summary
So far so good, Family Hotel fulfills all my current needs in my Hotel/Restaurant's every day routine.
