Ephnic Movie Maker for Mac allows you to quickly pull clips from your computer and combine them into a new movie file. Utilizing a striking, OSX-inspired interface, this software is a solid replacement for the free and entry-level tools offered by Apple on the Mac if you want to make a quick and easy home movie or add audio to a recording.

Pros

Intuitive, streamlined interface: After opening Ephnic Movie Maker for the first time, it takes only a couple seconds to figure out where the most important features are. There are top-level menus to select and drag-drop images, videos, audio, and effects into the timeline at the bottom. There is a single Build Movie button at the top and a drop-down menu with options for uploading directly to YouTube or Facebook. For basic home-movie management, it doesn't get any easier.

Wide range of support: In our tests, we were able to import and add a range of different audio and video formats, including some not supported by Apple's iMovie. This alone makes it a strong entry for video creation and editing, especially if you have any Windows files or recordings you want to use.

Cons

Limited power features: While the basic-level features of Ephnic Movie Maker are incredibly accessible, the functionality doesn't stretch too far beyond those basics. It's not designed to be a videographer tool, but if you want to do anything more advanced than add clips, this isn't the software for you. Even trimming and cutting clips is done in a separate window instead of in the timeline.

Simple to get started. Just made my first home movies.

Pros
No skills needed to make home movies. Easily add photos and videos and apply transition effects with background music and it's done! Just made my first movies for my friend's birthday. Amazing!

More transitions and titles would be better!

1. I cannot access my hard drive through their software to import files other than their auto select pictures file located in my HD. 2. Once I drag a picture to the time line, it cannot be removed. I spent lots of time looking for a way to delete but found none. 3. The music choices are only 3 seconds long. 4. Adding subtitles to pictures is difficult and I eventually did not succeed. 5. The font file is good size but all their fonts listed aren't printed in the actual font itself, so you have to click on each one to view what the font looks like rather than have them all listed together in their native font. Very time consuming/unnecessary. 6. The tutorials lack important information. 7. They say there are dozens of FAQs, though there are only 9. When I asked they said just email us your questions, and did not answer my question as to where the "dozens of FAQ" were located. 8. To get help you have to email them, which can take days to get a reply. 9. No phone support.
Summary
All in all this software was not created by someone with a pragmatic sense of user friendliness, hence one star. The aggravation is just not worth it. YouTube's free video maker is far superior and much more user friendly. My moto, If it's not easy, don't buy it.

Pros
No video editing skills needed. Even people like me could make beautiful home movies. I've just created some movies with photos & videos of summer holidays for my family. They really enjoyed it.
Cons
It has a dark user-interface. I don't like it very much personally. But my friends said it looks good.
