While this streamlined, no-frills program is reliable, it doesn't offer any more tricks than does a basic wristwatch. Egg Timer Plus includes both a timer and a stopwatch on the same miniature program screen; you can toggle between the two by clicking on tabs. We found it handy to create presets, or set times to count down to an alert (while waiting for pasta to boil, say, or waiting for a show to start). Yet you can't set several timers at once--to do so, you have to open several instances of the program and then set each. While compact, Egg Timer Plus is fairly basic and could have included a handful of skins or better sounds to give it a bit more flair. Overall, this program's no rotten egg, but we'd love to see more functions (even for our five bucks).

There are several free alternatives that offer more features, and are not stripped down demos
Cons
demo program that masks as freeware but offers little functionality without comical purchase price. Got a free one for my phone instead.

Pros
It's simple and easy to use. Useful for letting you know when your dinner's ready, when you should putting away your laundry when it's dried, etc. ;-)
Cons
Too many trial version restrictions. If it was possible for some options to be disabled in the trial version instead of all of them, then there would've been no cons. Other than that, it's ok. ;-)
Summary
I give this timer a 8.5/10. ;-) Would've been a 9 if there was no limit to how many presets you can make in the trial version. ;-)

Pros
The display is nice. Multiple timer windows are okay.
Cons
It took a while to figure out how to delete a preset. The icon in the system tray is a generic Windows icon.

Pros
Very useful to help focus on the time you spent working, as opposed to the actual time! Sounds simple, and it is, but the simple shift in focus had a big impact on my studying.
Cons
No cons as far as I can see. How can you knock something free that does the job?

This program works fine but it is plagued with pop-ups.

Pros
The program performs its function, and is easy and simple to use.
Cons
I received pop-ups while running it. After exiting the program, I received a few more pop-ups over time. I uninstalled the program; they continued. This program is certainly the cause. If anyone else encounters these symptoms, please post to confirm.
Summary
This is a very simple program, but it seems to be hiding some sort of Ad Bot, and I highly recommend against it.

Pros
I use this as a productivity tool. I set the count-down timer and stay on a task not allowing interruptions until the Egg Timer goes off. <p>Egg Timer works perfectly for this need.
Cons
There is a minor bug when you set a new Preset. You can create a new Preset, but you can't get back to unless you re-start the application. Not a big deal, but a bug none the less.
