Used Easy Video Capture for Windows?

Editors’ Review

This program makes capturing screenshots of PC activities a hassle-free affair, although it has a few shortcomings. Easy Video Capture's main window isn't tough to comprehend, and we appreciate that basic recording functions can be performed via hot keys. Still, we wished the program could record clips in a format other than AVI. You can not only set audio and video quality, you also can decide what area of the screen you want to capture and then disable the cursor from appearing in your clip. The full version lets you annotate your clips with captions, although the trial version won't let you access that feature. If you're using an older computer, be forewarned that Easy Video Capture may take a toll on your PC's performance, though we had no problems when using a standard machine. Desktop-support specialists and computer instructors will like this program's no-nonsense approach.

I thought it did a good job with what it's supposed to do.
When it works - it works great

Pros
Easy to use, being able to hide the mouse and select a certain area of your screen to capture is exactly what I was looking to find. You can also modify the quality of the recording easily. Inexpensive.
Cons
I had to re-install everytime I wanted to demo. I'll probably buy. I can re-install when I need it if necessary. Not as full featured as more expensive options.

Pros
Free to try and quick to download.
Cons
I couldn't get it to work. With me it failed to capture the screen. I tried a few things. Perhaps it can be made to work (some clearly have done so) but I need something I can just "plug and play."
Summary
Doesn't work...support email returned undeliverable.

Pros
Nothing...software locked up computer.
Had to either "end task"
Or reboot.
Cons
Support email returned undeliverable.
Software never worked. Installed three times.
Summary
Good with video, bad with audio.

Cons
Didn't capture a darn bit of audio.
Summary

ikey69March 2, 2006
Pros
no problems with it, my pc didn't have any performance issues, pic was clear and easy to use.
Cons
wish this would record sound.
Summary
Works well, but slow.
Music540genhillSeptember 23, 2005
Pros
It's easy to use, only takes seconds to get it up and running.
Cons
Made my computer run slowly (and my computer is full of RAM etc.). When you play it back, it's clear but not as clear as the original.
Summary
works but sloooooooow
fixindanSeptember 16, 2005
Pros
it does record. those that only see a blank recording need to check the "full screen" box under either video settings or recording settings (can't remember which, and i've already uninstalled it). it also has a lot of features.
Cons
this thing is so slow. it hogs up 96% of my cpu capacity when it's recording, and my laptop is not extremely old (1.4 GHz). thus i can't do anything when it's recording, and the recorded video is very choppy (almost like a slide show). bottom line is it didn't work me.
