Dynu IP Update Client works with all top level domains and third level domain names all over the world regardless of country of origin. Your domain name's dynamic IP address is automatically tracked by the client in real time.The updater supports IPv4 and IPv6 updates and can be run as Windows service. Users can run multiple instances of the IP update client to update a set of hostnames using 'Location' feature.

Host your own Web site or access your computer with a remote software and do much more with your internet connection no matter what your computer's IP address may be and even if you have dialup, DSL or cable modem internet connection where your computer's ip address changes all the time. Features such as default MX record (default is mail.yourname.com) will allow you to host your own e-mail server and have unlimited personalized (names@yourname.com) e-mail addresses very quickly and conveniently.

Dynamic DNS technology allows you to give your home network PC or server a permanent address on the Internet. Internet service providers change your IP address on a regular basis, but with dynamic DNS you can keep your domain name pointed to the current IP address of your home server or other devices. Your PC is connected to the internet and runs Dynu Client. Dynu Client keeps track of your computers IP address and reports it to Dynu DNS servers. When someone requests 'yourname.dynu.com', Dynu DNS servers redirect them to your computer just like InterNIC DNS servers redirect requests to 'yourname.com'. Now any user on the internet can connect to your PC instantly by requesting 'yourname.dynu.com'.

Seriously. I have been using Dynu dynamic DNS for the past 3 years. Dynu client has kept my IP updated regularly and emailed me IP changes. The additional features like subdomain IP update etc make this software a jewel. A treasure to be treasured! Way to go Dynu team! I am a very happy user of your product as you can probably tell, and I see from other reviews that I am not alone :)

Pros
It has been pretty useful for me.I am running my PC as a webserver, and this software serves me well. I am most happy with the fact that they allow me to have infinite subdomains for my own domain and all of this is free.
Cons
the client could be more simple.

Was very quick and easy to setup and get going. Basically, it works well and its all free.

I am glad to have to have found this solution since other dynamic DNS providers are either not free or require at least 1 update or login per month to keep the service active. Dynu dynamic DNS is quite nice!

Well, obviously the first pro is that its free. It was a breeze to setup and the web control panel makes it easy to use.
Cons
There are none but it would be nice to have an option to have an email sent to me when the IP address has changed.

Pros
The main advantage for me is that this service supports IP updates of individual aliases from different machines. Besides this, the IP updates are very quick and it supports virtually all types of DNS records.
Cons
None so far.
Summary
If you are an advanced user, take a look at their SDK which you can use to apply IP updates in a customized way. I was able to use the SDK to write a script for failover purposes.
