The free but seriously limited WeatherEye offers basic weather reports for cities around the world. Before launching the program, you need to provide your e-mail address and select the city for which you want the current conditions. The small main interface displays the temperature, the barometric pressure, the humidity, and the wind conditions.

The system-tray icon shows the current temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit. You can view information for up to three cities at a time. It's better than sticking your head out a window, but unless you constantly monitor the weather day in and day out, we think you'll do just as well to get the same information online.

Several problems
jbw9999April 29, 2012
Pros
Allows more than one area (though didn't try it).
Cons
Way too many ads. Forcast temps were way off compared to weather.com and Windows 7 Gadget. Used way too much memory, even for just one location. Can't zoom out on radar past local area. Support almost non existant.
Summary
Uninstalled.
Always there when I need it, acurate and uptodate.

Pros
Up to date info at your finger tips.
Cons
Some time take awhile do uplink, mau be the overall system.
Summary
Quite enjoy it, have used for at least five years.
I gave it a 5, because it's been accurate for my area.
2bwshookOctober 23, 2011
Pros
Gives me a better picture of the weather around my area than I get from the TV stations.
Cons
None at this time.
Summary
I will recommend WeatherEye to my family and friends. It's good to have on hand.

Updated on Feb 6, 2012
Now, for some reason the program quit working for me and I don't know why. I finally got frustrated, uninstalled the WeatherEye program, and reinstalled it the next day (three days ago), and it's been working fine ever since. Don't know what happened the first time; I don't normally have that kind of problem.

tmkrauseOctober 17, 2011
Pros
Easy to install and accurate.
Cons
Too much advertising around the initial screen.
Summary
A very good app. for keeping your eye on your local weather or even someone else's weather. Multiple cities are available to see.
Quick & informative
RixCnet777October 17, 2011
Pros
Quck glance at icon gives temperature. Good variety of display options. Easy to use.
Cons
Weather is not localized enough, the weather reports I receive for my area are from a town an hour away from me. The weather there is not reflective of what I am getting here.
Summary
Not bad for a quick idea of what might be going on out there but not as accurate as could be if they had more reporting stations available.

Updated on Oct 17, 2011
Although I gave a 5 star review, it was a mistake and should have been no more than 4... my bad...

Pros
It's free, accruate, updates often.

Tried many of the free desktop weather applications this is the best one so far. Uses little resources, relays current data and displays the temperature in my sys tray. Additional information is just a click of the icon away.
