DropDownloadURL is a utility for batch downloading and aggregating all resources referenced from a given URL.

DropDownloadURL will optionally collect the downloaded files into subfolders of the destination based on their extension. Each such subfolder is named using the common extension of the files it contains

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />You give this program a URL to process in one of several ways, most simply by dragging it out of a browser window. (The one way you cannot give it a URL is to type it in!) When it has a URL it immediately begins a scan of every image or url link from that page, adding them to its "process queue." Then it recursively searches those pages, and so on. So eventually it has queued every single item that can be reached starting from this page. That can be one heckuva lot of URLs: if e.g. the page links to a typical blog, it will start queueing up the links to all the blog entries, and all links contained in them. I don't see any way to control or limit this search, for example, no way to say "stay within the starting site." It just follows all links no matter where they go: facebook pages, youtube pages, blog pages, and wherever those pages link. Then, or possibly in parallel, it starts downloading all those linked files, one at a time, and dumping them into the target folder, which is the desktop by default. This might be useful except that it makes no attempt to reproduce the site directory structure. It either puts everything in one folder, or it "aggregates" them in subfolders by file suffix. This means that you cannot use this program to reproduce a website in working form. Links to files in subdirectories will fail because the directories aren't reproduced. Also (and as stated on the developer page) it doesn't do well at getting dynamic data or things linked via javascript. Just static links.
