• Excellant Product - One of the best out there!

  I never had an issue with the product really except I tried to burn a boot disk to a DVD and it would not work. So finally I read the screen instructions and created a boot scrubber CD. No problem at all. Product is Excellent! Its updated regularly. The boot disk is way up there with the competition and really fast.

  Summary

  Drive Scrubber takes a bit of getting use to but I have tried nearly every wipe software and this is the best. They work and update it regularly not like others. I am using it for over 2 years now and I will not be changing. Remember if you want to create a boot disk insert a blank CD not DVD. It makes sense as a CD is more compatible and like all bootable wipe software, its only a small boot program, so using a DVD would be a waste.

  I used this product several years ago. The instructions were so poorly written or complicated by the time I had figured it out I wrote down my own set of instructrions in order to navigate through them when I needed to re-use the produce. It allows three downloads. This time I never got past making a boot disc which didn't work even after three start from scratch tries. I call a inept person at Tech Support who said they would kick it upstairs and I'd get a call. I've called daily and even called the general number for the company and have not gotten even one return call. I asked to speak to the owner - of course that didn't work. I said I would wait on hold and after 15 minutes of cell phone use gave that up. Finally I said to send a return authorization number and I got the form by email. Its been two days since I submitted the form and even said in the form that I'd prefer that Tech Support help me out. Nothing. No support or return authority.

Of course they reminded me I'll pay a 15% "restocking" fee which is a joke as they'll "restock" the disc into the trash bin. They sent the return authorization even after I literally begged them three times to have Tech Support call and talk me through the process. I guess its cheaper to give me a discounted refund. Never again with iolo. I'll faint if I get a check.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jan 10, 2012<p/>It's now been two months since I went through the frustrating attempts at using this product which never worked. Customer support is non-existent. You will be referred to a supervisor who will never call back. My refund request (less a "restocking" fee has yet to appear.

  Pros

  Bought this disk at a local store. Very easy to install. Installed it on windows XP and used it a number of times with great success. Love it.

  Cons

  Bought a new pc with windows vista. Uninstalled program from windows XP then reinstalled it on windows vista with compatability windows XP (service pack 2). Used a few times with complete success. Then I found it necessary to interupt (cancel) a wipe. When I returned and started to continue the process a red 'cancelled' appeared beside each drive I was trying to wipe. It happened each time I clicked start to begin the wipe. That has been almost 2 months ago and despite numerous exchanges with tech support and reinstallations from the disk it still shows 'cancelled' each time I click start. My account shows system performing OK with 4 months remaining on subscription. But it will not work.

  Summary

  I think this could be an excellent and very useful program if only there were competent tech support to help weed out the 'bugs'. As it is now, it takes ages to get a reply from tech support if indeed you are lucky to get any reply at all.

  Pros

  It does what they say it does. You can erase a complete hard drive or just the free space. If you want to sell your old comp or if you need to lend out your old comp. Use this program and you will have no worries. I recommend using this program.

  I have no cons at this time.

  Summary

  I like using this program to keep my old files taking up too much space on my comp. I use it all the time to erase deleted files that have piled up on my comp. I just think this is a fantastic program to use.

  Its ease of use, not only does it scrub a whole drive but just the deleted files on your drive if only required

  We were throwing out our incredibly old computer with years of family, personal, business, financial history. We did our taxes on it, loaded tons of pictures of the kids, a lot of various papers and essays and emails. My husband and I did not want this information to fall into the wrong hands because we know how much damage that would do. We bought DriveScrubber from a friend's recommendation and sure enough everything was gone! We felt completely secure giving the old junk (that have provided years of pleasure) to the Goodwill. Good money spent.

  Trial says 3 uses. It is 1 use each of three different items, two of which I have not use for. To say you have 3 uses is misleading. I won't purchase from liars.

  A good software, works very well on free space and are very fast.

  Cons

  Beware, if you purchase on other sites than Iolo.com you probability get a 12 month subscription. This kind of software requires seldom updates. <p>With a subscription this software will be extremely costly. <p>Very bad support, will not answer mail!

  The install hung the machine while creating a desktop link. I reinstalled without the link and the install completed, but refused to run no matter what I did. I've been building and selling computer since the Altair 8008 and this was installed on a box stock HP laptop.

  This software does NOT work. I tried it on 3 different computers. It will not work and it is a waste of money. I purchased this software....didn't just download it. The box doesn't tell you that you need to have an internet connection. It also doesn't tell you that you need a CD burner. Doesnt matter, because I had all that on 3 different computers, and it still NEVER worked. I work on computers, and thought that maybe this software would make things easier.....but bottom line....don't waste your money. If you are trying to delete a partition, or format a drive, just put your XP disc in.
