Health as fleeting time

In Dorsaka, you begin each attempt with a full health bar, which acts as a timer. You won’t find health pickups or ways to slow the decay. Instead, you’re constantly balancing how long to explore with how much further you can go with no map or tracking system. You either keep moving or accept that adventure costs you the one thing you can’t refill: time disguised as health.

Each section of the maze connects to others, forming a loosely grid-based layout that feels more like a mental map than a physical one. Pathways can circle back or loop into different dimensions of the desert. No objective markers, no indicators, just persistent navigation through strange rooms. You’ll sometimes reach what feels like a new area, only to discover you’ve looped back to an earlier point through an unfamiliar route.

Exploration rewards you with secret rooms, cryptic messages, and environmental oddities. Though some areas lead to dead ends. Others warp your sense of direction or provide brief moments of clarity. Hidden tiles and fake walls can lead to alternate routes or cryptic passages. The game hints at meaning but leaves it unspoken, leaving you to interpret what you’ve seen, if anything can be trusted at all.
