  Pros

  It makes DMing up to level 20 easy as heck.

  Cons

  It has some quirks (for example, it gives monks Stunning Fist as a bonus feat at level 1, and doesn't let them pick it up until level 8), the psionic feats really should be seperated into their own category since they overrun the other stuff, and at epic levels, the thing falls apart.

  Pros

  I found this program a few years ago, and haven't had the occasion to use it much, but when I have used it, it has been a great help to me. If you've ever had players that move so fast that it is hard to keep up with the action, such as how long that spell lasts or what the weather is like, or how many days travel it would take by foot or by steed, then this is the program for you.

  Cons

  The program will require you to read the instructions and do the tutorial, as it is anything but intuitive. But once you learn the ropes, you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

  Although the tool clearly need some manipulation before one reach an acceptable play fluidity, I(ve mastered it after 3 games sessions and a few hours preparing my scenarii. I'm wondering how could I've mastered without this tool !

  Overall its a very good program, but it seems as if they tried to squeeze too much into one program. Half the time you're trying to figure out how to do this and that, than playing the game. I still use it for its individual purposes, but there just is too much thrown together

  After having downladed the DM Genie and played, edited, and fiddled with, Iv'e become quite convinced I couldnt have possibly DM'ed games with out it. Just when you think you've come up with a situation too far out in left field, theres a varible for it in the Genie. The downside to the program is its steep learning curve (off set by very user friendly, interactive tutorials) and cluttered look that dominates every screen and sub-screen. Minor fault, though, in an otherwise indespensible DMing tool.

  Tracks so much...so easily. I no longer have to just wing it when it comes to combat and hope I get the modifiers right. No longer will I have to worry about forgetting when a spell wears off. DM Genie does it for me! I have given (as well as many others) ideas to the Developer and he has responded and added them into the program. There are frequent updates and it's a tremendous value. I have never bought a shareware program before. I bought this one.
