Disk Doctors FAT Data Recovery for Windows

It's almost standard that data recovery demoware will disable the save function, but this program's disclaimer includes a notice that the software is believed to contain defects. That doesn't inspire confidence.

Disk Doctor's FAT Data Recovery's simple three-pane interface appears logical. Found files are listed atop a running list of drives processed. It's just too bad the program failed to perform expected functions.

The application's primary function wizard failed every time during our tests. Recovering files from a disk image, cloning disks, and creating disk images are all disabled in the demoware. The primary option to recover data from FAT drives claimed our test drives suffered from damaged partition tables when the tables were healthy. In other cases, the program simply failed to scan found logical drives. Assuming a user could get this application to discover files, the save function is also disabled, as we expected.

There is nothing about Disk Doctor's FAT Data Recovery that would prompt us to recommend testing. There are many other data recovery applications available, and users shouldn't waste time with this one.
