At one time or another, just about everybody ends up wishing that they could edit a PDF document. Maybe it's a form that needs to be filled out, or information that needs to be combined with something else in another document. This is a common problem, but many of the programs that are capable of editing PDF files cost hundreds of dollars. DeskUNPDF Standard is an affordable alternative that makes it easy to convert PDF files to editable formats.

The program's interface is well-designed and intuitive. To convert a file, users simply select the source PDF, choose an output format--the options include Word, OpenOffice, and text documents--and click Convert. The program quickly converts the PDF to the desired editable output format. For users who desire a little more control, there are plenty of optional settings that can be adjusted; users can specify page ranges, margin exclusion, text formatting, and how to handle images. Users can also purchase an OCR add-on that will allow them to scan documents directly to DeskUNPDF and convert them to editable formats. DeskUNPDF comes with a surprisingly detailed PDF User Guide, but we didn't need to refer to it; everything about the program seemed pretty self-explanatory to us. Overall, we found DeskUNPDF to be incredibly easy to use, and we think it's a great choice for anyone who needs to edit a PDF file without investing in a program like Adobe Acrobat.

DeskUNPDF installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
