Desktop Macros allows users to have the computer perform complex tasks with relative ease. You'll have to spend some time in the Help file to get started, but its results are worth the time and effort.
The program's interface is certainly not intuitive. However, after a look through the Help file, its purpose and navigation become pretty clear. With a little experimenting and reading, users will be utilizing the few controls necessary to run this program. The program's major function is recording keyboard and mouse movements so that repetitive tasks (such as navigating through complex file trees to open programs) can be done automatically. Users simply hit the record key and then go through the motions of opening and entering information they want accomplished. After clicking the Stop button, the movements are memorized and a hot key can then perform this task instead of clicking and entering data. The results are not instant; rather, your cursor begins moving automatically and goes through the motions, which takes just as long as if you did it yourself. The program also allows users to customize their macros. The best customization is the capability to speed up the process, and is done by moving a slider.
While the program worked great, we see it as being useful only for those doing incredibly complex tasks they don't want to repeat. Users must put some effort into learning the program, but it won't take all 15 days of its trial to learn the value.
