PhotoDirector is an all-in-one photo editor and manager that gives you complete control over your digital photography workflow. For new users and photography veterans alike, PhotoDirector has robust tools to help you perfect each snapshot.

Pros

Intuitive interface: PhotoDirector shares many traits with tried-and-true workflow interfaces like Lightroom. Primary adjustment and management tools are in menus that are aligned to the screen edges. Manual-adjustment sliders give you incremental control over every aspect of your photo file, from standard color-correction, brightness, and noise-removal tools to more perspective-altering adjustments like lens correction.

Filtered management: Get as basic or as granular as you please in organization. You can manage your photo gallery through tags and labels, and you can sort by flags, color, edit status, and stacks.

Performance: Version 5 takes advantage of 64-bit processor-powered machines, which is critical for loading images at higher resolutions, especially when entering Retina and 4K territory.

Cons

Varying import times: Our import times varied when importing about 40 raw images. Batch load times were noticeably inconsistent compared to those of other photo editors like Lightroom.

Lens profiles: PhotoDirector lacks some of the more precise lens perspective profiles that Lightroom has. That's not a deal breaker, since most photographers will find 90 percent of their needs met by PhotoDirector's tools. However, for the few who take their discipline more seriously, that lack is a differentiator.

Bottom Line

PhotoDirector offers a competitive package with comparable value. It's accessible for photographers of all levels, yet includes enough depth to enable serious photographers to get the most out of their shots.

Jesus Christ!hehe Just good enough for a single pose..
fujitsuloverMay 14, 2014
Pros
It was able to combine my favorite musical with a still picture.
Cons
Could not figure out right now how to make a slide show.
Summary
It got this program as a promotion however it was version 4 that I reviewed; So there might have been a glitch that was fixed. Either case, I settled and made a great still musical for my Mother's Day anyways. Thank you Jesus Christ for CyberLink's clearance promotion.
Look elsewhere for a good Slideshow program.

Pros
Appeared to do pan & zoom for Slideshows
Cons
No provision for separate "Chapters" on a Slideshow menu. Not really free.
Summary
Photo editors seem to be relatively happy. I've used Cyberlink many years ago in very basic slideshow preparation but it doesn't appear to have progresssed very much since then. Uninstalling it after 30 minutes may have been an unfair trial.

Pros
It is less expensive than Photoshop & does everything PS does.
Cons
I've been using Photoshop for years and I found PhotoDirector to be a little confusing. If you are looking for a good program to fix your photos, this one is just as good as Photoshop and if you haven't used Photoshop you will probably have an easier time of it than I did.
Summary
I use PowerDirector by Cyberlink and it is FAR better than Adobe's video editor. I also found customer support is MUCH better with Cyberlink than Adobe. In fact I would say Adobe's customer support is next to none.
Misleading upgrade for CyberLink PhotoDirector 3
swanjameJune 16, 2013
Pros
I never got to the point of using CyberLink PhotoDirector 4.
Cons
I got notification that an update was available for my CyberLink PhotoDirector 3; I went through the upgrade and i got instead a trial version of CyberLink PhotoDirector 4 that would have required payment.
Summary
Great Photo Editing Software
