  It works well. Easy to use, i have a good webcam, Logitech 5000 pro. So crimecatcher does a good job, the new version 3.22 sends emails to gmail ect.

  Cons

  There are a lot of reports on the internet that crimecatcher is a SPYWARE, and is a severe threat to your computer safety. • False Alerts - Very Big Problem

  Easy to use. Good control over what is emailed and FTP.

  Cons

  The motion sensor set low will will trigger nothing, one step more sensitive and you will get false alterts. This was not realised until I paid the $25.00. Heavey investigation showed the sensor is set off by tiny vibations such as aircraft noise, a big truck in the distance or even a light thump on the wall near by. I then tried WEBcam Monitor - this software worked many times better.

  I purchased the full version for $25 and it did not work. I tried emailing for tech support and never heard a response after 4 emails. Find another program!

  easy to use, captures images when needed. saves to disk, sends to FTP.

  Major bug with multiple camera support, and I use a purchased version. I'm not sure email sender works, it didnt work as far as I can tell (I did configure and test it). <p>I sent several emails about the multiple cameras problem about a week ago, still no answer. I dont think anyone checks, but they did accept my credit card when purchased to program..

  Very simple to use and understand

  Cons

  This software will not send to your email accounts. Most SMTP server now requires authentication and this software will not do it. So if you plan to send security images to Yahoo, hotmail, Gmail, Earthlink forget about it. They all require authentication and this software doesn't do it. What use is it to have a software for servallence but only stores it on your HD.

  Crime Catcher is an excellent idea, it is just a power house. First of all to get 4 camera's working you have to have bascially 3 different port's for usb. I am running a pentium 3 proc. (2200) I received a error because my computer was running out of bandwidth, I had to purchase a new usb pci card to run 4 camera's. This program uses all of your computers resources, so dont try doing anything else with 4 camera's installed.

  I am running this program on a Pentium @ 233mHz. After double clicking the icon the program takes about 46 seconds to initialize. I have two web cams with different drivers. They are both monitored and the images taken form each are recorded in the same log. Deleted images do not go to the recycle bin. One image is never deleted, unless it is deleted from the folder manually. The GUI disappears from the screen completely. Restarting the program brings it back. However, if the monitoring is started with the time delay it is impossible to hide the program until the delay counts down and the monitoring session begins. If the camera is pointed at the computer, you can’t escape it. The first day I played with it I was unable to exit the program. I tried File-exit, clicking the x in the upper right corner, and Alt-F4. I had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to End Task. After a week of use I tried to bring up the log in which there were no images. I got a pop up box which read, “Runtime Error 35601 Element not found,” after which the program terminated. I had hopes for this program. It is well laid out and easy to use. It captures the DUN for e-mail notification setup. The path to save images is user definable. It is the only one I found that can monitor multiple cameras. With a little more development it should smoke the competition. But for now I have to uninstall it in favor of a single camera monitor that is stable.
