Get control over browser cookies with this free Firefox add-on, which allows you to select how, and if, cookies are added to your computer. There's a lot of flexibility built into this tool, and it won't take up a lot of valuable space on your browser. There's no help file, but the simple, tabbed Options menu is self-explanatory and allows you to change the icon skin, create exception lists, and set preferences for how cookies are handled with each session. This small program's tiny browser window icon has a simple pull-down menu to quickly accept or reject cookies from specific sites or all sites.

While surfing you'll find it's very convenient to make changes to your cookie permissions. CookieSafe makes cookie management much easier. The only thing we would have liked was notification when an item fails to load because of a blocked cookie. Even so, if you find that something isn't loading, it's a quick click to immediately allow cookies from a site.

According to the publisher's site, this add-on is no longer supported and has been replaced by a pared-down version called CS Lite. However, CookieSafe's forum is still available for any questions about the product. If you're tired of an ever-expanding list of unwanted cookies, this freeware browser add-on is a good choice for any level of user.
