This small, artsy add-on uses vibrant hues to help differentiate tabs on your Firefox browser. Colorful Tabs has no interface. In guerilla-like fashion, the different shades just appear after you install the program, launch your browser, and open a new tab. However, this latest update puts you in control, letting you choose the color of each tab and the level of fade-out for nonactive ones. Configuration couldn't be simpler. Colorful Tabs offers a great variation from the same standard color and does actually help you to more quickly distinguish between tabs. Free and small, any Firefox user wanting to add color to their tabs will appreciate this extension piece.

With Colorful tabs you have to be carefully which one is active so you don't accidentally close it. Now my tabs are back to normal, the active tab is light in color and has the red "close" cross and all the other tabs are gray. It's just that simple.
Summary
I used it for two weeks and then got rid of this confusing mismatch of colors. I'm glad my tabs are back to "normal". See "Cons".

I love this program..I tried the tab mix plus but it took away my bookmarking feature....it was more important to me than tab mix plus.

Pros: Sounds like some nice eye-candy for Firefox.
Cons: Firefox 3 refuses to install it, claiming that the publisher does not provide secure updates. Drat... I really wanted to try this one out!
