  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />A wonderful and a must for many years. Updating to Snow Leopard is unclear to me as SL now supports direct spelling by adding files to /Library/Spelling, even if cocoAspell may be used as well, including prelast version.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've had no trouble installing CocoAspell, on either my PowerMac G4 or on my new MacBook Pro (intel Core 2 duo). Previous versions have worked with mixed results, this one is definately a keeper. The only complication I came across was because of a broken dictionary file for the Dutch language, which is not the responsibility of tyhe CocoAspell developer, of course. BTW other variants of the Dutch dictionary compile OK. Just a suggestion: I guess a lot of people would appreciate an installer for dictionary files other than English, even though the manual installation is pretty straightforward.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This version seems to bring back the problem (for UK users) of "cannot contact the spelling checker". But even when it works, it may offer 40 alternatives for each misspelt word, making it practically impossible to reach the rest of the menu. And do we really need nine UK English dictionaries? Less complexity, more usability please!

It is a real pity that it will not work with pages of all programs, MS word I can understand but with pages ? &gt;:~( C'mon Apple sort out the problem to allow extra dictionaries in pages, it now means that I have to run everything through TextEdit first to check the spelling. Great job from the developers though and thanks to all those people out there compiling the dictionaries. If I was religeous you would be saints!

Actually, I know many people that didn't upgraded to Tiger yet due to the lack of this great tool's compatibility...
