Like ceramic flutes, bugles and ocarina's and others. First of all I didn't know my Powerbook had a built in microphone. The tuner window came up and I could see there was input. I got out my little 4 note electronic tuner (GDAE) and tested it. It works! It picked out the correct note everytime. Then I began to sing into it to see if my voice was in tune! Well, that's another story. But maybe with a little practice?
Then I ran and got my Native American Flute collection and played them. It is so easy to see and adjust the pitch as you play!
So, in my opinion, this program is just perfect for musical instrument makers and players and singers. I checked out prices of other tuners and found them to be too expensive for me. My computer should be doing that! Good job
I'm extremely happy with Chromatic Tuner!

I'm not sure whether I'd use it regularly or not, but if I do find myself using it, definitely worth the $5. Interface is very friendly and dead simple to use. If you don't mind taking your iBook to orchestra rehearsal, it's a whole lot cheaper than a standalone tuner!
Eventually (perhaps in the next version) it would be cool to have other tuning systems - pythagorean, just, etc. Of course, that would require a couple of other inputs (tuning system and tonic note selection), but I'd be happy to help with the theory if the author would like it. :)
