Used Choir Keeper for Windows?
Editors’ Review
Choir Keeper offers many tools for managing choirs and their music. While it provides a lot of options, the program's need for manual input keeps it from being worthwhile.
We were disappointed by the sparse interface, consisting mostly of folder icons and blank space. Most of the menus for entering information were manageable, though we needed to visit the Help file's tutorial to understand how to schedule choirs. The program allowed us to list every piece of music in our collection, along with every member of the choir into similarly managed databases. All information could be used to populate a schedule so that every element, from which member is singing alto parts, to which song we closed with, was laid out. The amount of data was comprehensive, but time consuming. We wished there was a faster way to input this and imagined large choirs with hectic schedules would have great difficulty because of all the information constantly needed. The program didn't provide any special features. We felt a visual calendar or a chart showing what members were singing at which performance would have been handy for large choirs with rotating casts. Overall, we enjoyed the ability to have all this data, but felt it was too much work.
Choir Keeper is a freeware program. It comes as a compressed file and leaves folders behind after uninstall. While it offered a lot of control, the amount of manual input led us to not recommend this program.
