A few customization options aside, this alarm clock stands as merely an average choice. Chime Clock's bare-bones design is simply a small window that displays the date and time. The program can be minimized to your taskbar, but it can't be configured to run in your system tray or in the always-on-top mode. In spite of its rather dull design, we appreciated the ability to change the display font and dial in the exact color scheme we wanted by separately adjusting RGB levels. You can configure this clock to chime hourly, quarterly, or nightly, as well as set alarms for specific times of day. However, you can't set more than one alarm per day, a rather significant flaw in our book. Chime Clock comes with about a dozen pleasant preset chimes, including such songs as "America the Beautiful" and "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." Nevertheless, we would have liked the ability to compose our own tunes. Folks seeking a simple, no-frills alarm clock can benefit from this application, although those who need multiple reminders should find something more powerful.
