• Like Playing Someone Who Has Never Played Chess.

  Colorful, customizeable, highly-visible graphics.

  Computer opponent does not know about: Castling, maintaining pawn structure (especially in front of king), not moving king unless necessary. When you are 4 moves into the game and his king starts advancing, you know which way the game is going to go. The opponent only has two openings: P-K4, or P-Q3. Then it proceeds with weak move N-K2 or N-Q2. In essence, this game does everything it can to get you to win. I can appreciate this to give new players a taste of success. If you play a relatively sound game (no give-aways), you will win. Even with blunders, you will still probably win. To show you how bad-a=player I am, this game occasionally wins if I play after I just woke up, usually by me neglecting to leave one of my rooks on the first rank. One other thing this game absolutely neglects: The urgency of tending to one of my advanced pawns that is threatening to gain my Queen back. It has no idea that this rule exists.

  Summary

  Like I said, this game give a crucial sense of success to new players. if you are not really that hot of a player who just dabbles and likes to win all the time, then maybe you would enjoy playing it every day like I do. The graphics are awesome: I have bright red pieces vs bold yellow ones. I have the superior Chess Rally II as well, but their drab light grey interface makes me screw up sometimes because I can hardly see the pieces. Ingenuware should get Mr. Crump in there to liven up the interface, or at least give it more choices like Chess Marvel.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jun 1, 2014<p/>Don't bother purchasing for "advanced" level.   The game wasn't anything special, but it was nice 2 play on my old 486 laptop. Wish ya didn't have 2 pay for the advanced levels... It's Worth a download.

  This program installed easily on my Dell OptiPlex with Win98SE, and has caused no problems in about 50 sessions. The design of the pieces is such that they are not immediately recognizable, and the color choices are limited and poor. Every other game, the computer moves first, and rather than moving the white pieces, it moves the black. That means that the old rule of "queen on her color" is completely reversed, making the game confusing.

  In this game the graphics are bad, there is no sound, and even the colours are wrong! (white is pink and black is brown) The game is boring, uncolourful, without many features, and in my view a complete waste of time! Thank You!
