This no-frills program quickly encodes plain text messages on the fly, but don't expect stunning features. Centricorp's Base 64 Encoder and Decoder's interface is a mere two text windows. You enter plain text into one window and press a button to get the encoded version in the other. Of course, text encoded by the program is decoded using the same pair of windows. The utility uses a single encoding method, Base64, which doesn't require password keys. Because some spammers use Base64 to obscure e-mails, you might be able to use this program to read their encoded text. Any Base64 decoder should be able to decode text saved by this program. However, it isn't safe as a private encryption tool and would only maintain confidentiality against casual viewing. This application is one of the rare programs that needs no help file. Users needing to quickly encode plain text to Base64 will like the simplicity of this application.
