The Bynari AddressBook plug-in for Microsoft Outlook gives users the ability to search their LDAP directory from within Outlook. The AddressBook uses the same interface as Outlook's address book, so end-users are unaware that they are using a separate piece of software.The Bynari AddressBook gives end-users the power of querying their LDAP database and it returns those results in a user-friendly Global Address List display, similar to Microsoft Exchange. The AddressBook can display users, groups, mailing lists, or any organizational unit.With a fully customizable "ObjectClass" filters, the Bynari AddressBook is ready to be deployed into just about any LDAP environment - from Microsoft ActiveDirectory to OpenLDAP.

Leaps beyond other address books - IMHO

someone thought long and hard about this product. Pros: *local side data cache for offline use *very flexible LDAP configuration possibilities *uses the existing outlook address book window *displays everything in a logical manner *good price
Cons
*only email support is available for my time zone. The company is in the USA and I'm in Brisbane: no after hours tele support *while configuration is flexible you have to really know LDAP to know what to input
Summary
I would buy this product. I am in trial now but it is very stable and does what it is supposed to do. In fact, it does it quite well. My biggest surprise is that it is hidden away back in the search results. Where is the editor's pick on this product?

Pros
Connected to OpenLDAP perfectly. Gave me full listing of users in address book format. Was able to configure groups and resources to display as well. Program is very flexible.
Cons
It is hidden in the back of Cnet's list?? This is a product for the editor's to review - seriously.
Summary
This product kicks butt. It is so well done that the end-users (who don't like change) don't even notice anything changed. Full address book integration. It reuses the default outlook address book window or something because it is all in there together - both personal contacts and LDAP contacts. You select them from a pull down menu. Does not seem to have any negative overhead either; e.g. not a resource hog! I'm sometimes leery of downloading trial software because of, ahem, well you know. Not with this one - very nice.
Makes LDAP usable in outlook

Pros
downloaded this for my network. configured easy with my ubuntu e-mail server. openldap shows up in outlook like a regular contact list or global address book. It creates a client side cache for offline mode...which is nice.
Cons
took me a couple tries to get my user DN correct. I suppose their tech support would have saved me some time...but i figured it out anyway.
Summary
very cool app for outlook. just like with my review on their imap connector, this thing is invisible and it just works. nicely done!
