Scan for weaknesses and hidden backdoors into your home network.
Bitdefender Home Scanner is a free tool that scans your Wi-Fi network, maps devices and identifies and highlights network security flaws. Bitdefender Home Scanner looks for weak passwords, as well as vulnerable or poorly encrypted communications. It correlates the information gathered from your connected devices with online vulnerability databases and gives you a thorough report so you can ensure maximum security for your network.
When I ran Bitdefender Home Scanner on my system it found three vulnerabilities on my router and said that updating the router software might fix the problem. After the firmware was updated by the service provider Home Scanner found no more vulnerabilities. Sounds good, right? Well, a friend of mine has the exact same router, and it already has the same updated version of the software as mine. Nonetheless, Home Scanner found the same three vulnerabilities on this router and made the same recommendation. However, this router's software is already up to date. It thus seems that Home Scanner finds non-existent vulnerabilities in order to sell the Bitdefender Box. See also:
