Within Bible Max, you can find several Bible translations, commentaries, devotionals, references (including maps), and more. We found working within Bible Max to be fairly intuitive. A very nice feature is its daily devotional.

Bible Max has lots to offer, but it does have a few drawbacks. For example, although it touts itself as free (even includes a seal that reads: "Bible Software Should Be Free"), many users will find they need to purchase a CD or two or three for additional Bible translations and commentaries and more (although to be fair, some are available as a free download), particularly those users who need a translation other than the default or the handful of downloadable versions. And although the Bible Max Help and Tutorial menus are fairly comprehensive, its FAQs are quite sparse. Also, its download center is cluttered with ads, ads, and more ads.

The bottom line is that Bible Max offers much but is not a one-stop shop for all things Bible and Bible commentary. For example, users who want to consult the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible will need to go elsewhere as this translation and many more are not available within Bible Max, even as a CD. And although Bible Max makes available lots of commentaries and other tools, it does not make available all or even most. Bible Max is a good start, but it should probably not be the only tool relied upon for Bible study.

BibleMax is great but only has available Bible versions I normally wouldn't use. Was hoping for NIV, NASB, RSV, or NRSV: no luck. The $3 CD option includes KJV2000.

BibleMax works great! It's the best Bible program out there that I've seen that actually WORKS with a Windows 7 64-bit computer. And it's free. Tried a different program first (BiblePro) which crashed every time. Biblemax has three main windows: the Scripture verses, a commentary pane, and a references pane, all well laid out. Fast and intuitive interface. Pleasure to use. You can choose from several Bible versions and several commentaries. Most are public domain versions that are 100+ years old. Also numerous reference books and devotional books that I'd be unlikely to look at. There's an ad when you boot up the program mentioning you can get a CD from them with many more versions for free but $2.99 shipping. Seems reasonable to me. However I would prefer NIV, RSV, NRSV, NASB, or ESV - none available. Mostly old-time public domain translations, but they do have KJV2000 on the CD so I may get it. CD has 24 additional commentaries, 15 reference books (dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.), and lots of devotional books. I'm still looking for a NIV version; there's got to be some brand out there that has it for a Windows 7 machine, whatever the cost. Until then this will do. If you're OK with KJV and various other (mostly) older translations, some great Bible tools, in a snappy interface that works great, then this program is for you. As I was writing this review I think I've decided to get the additional CD so I can have the KJV2000 translation. Was hoping for a NIV but since it's not available I'll see how I like this one!
Up to date, and doesn't seem to have any glitches.

i still want more detail on the holy land today and see where iam studying from it would be nice there and to see where he walked since alot of us have never been there and don't have funds to travel there.
